All human beings who did not fulfill their life course on earth must come back in a course of resurrection. This type of resurrection can take many forms, from a spirit helping a person on earth to fulfill his or her mission to actually coming in the body of a person.

There has also been made much misuse of this possibility for spirits to descend in a body. Altogether, for a spirit to come into a body is something very demanding for both the spirit and the person to whom the body belongs. This process often goes wrong and I want to elaborate on some principles so we can understand more deeply why such an undertaking sometimes ends in failure.

First, let me list a few possible forms of how spirits can descend in a body. The most widely occurring is when a spirit influences a person on earth and gives inspiration or revelations. In that case, it is only the mind of the spirit or angel that comes into the mind of the person on earth, and this can happen in various degrees.

A second possibility is that a spirit comes in the body of a medium who is in trance. In that case the descent of the spirit is temporary and takes usually place under controlled conditions. Most of the time, there will be a group of spirits supporting and protecting such an event. The medium prepares him- or herself for this occurrence by making conditions of fasting, prayer, dancing, or by taking certain drugs. This kind of descent of spirits is rather widely known in many native cultures on earth.

A third kind of resurrection of a spirit in a body is when the spirit person entirely and more permanently occupies the body of a physical person. Also here can be various degrees of how this is done. For example, sometimes the original spirit of the person is not with the body anymore but is taken to a protected place in the spiritual world. Sometimes the spirit is still with the body but consciously takes a step backwards to allow the spirit to come in. And in other cases the spirit of the body is there with the body but is unconscious for longer time.

I am only listing here the most common and generalized types of a spirit's descent into a body. There are many more variations.

It is also possible for all of these types of spiritual descent to be controlled by evil spirits. The worst case of this we know as 'possession.' In that case an evil spirit possesses the body of a person and expresses through the body, often in ugly and disgusting ways.

Now what are some of the conditions that must be made for a successful resurrection of a heavenly spirit in a body? There is a responsibility here for all those who are involved. If any of these parties makes mistakes, trouble can come. The spirit him- or herself needs to be very much centered on God, the more so because coming in a body also means to have to deal with the restoration situations that the body is normally going through. For example, if the person of the body would have a problem with certain types of sinful behavior, the spirit must overcome this in real situations of restoration.

The person who is the original owner of the body also has a role to play. He or she can help in the process, learn from the spirit if the spirit is more heavenly, or he or she could also make trouble to the spirit who came in.

Also very important is that a circle of good friends, in archangels' position, both in spirit world and on earth, are supporting the process and protecting and praying for the spirit person who came into the body. Especially when the event of the spirit's descent is meaningful for God's Providence of Restoration, there can come many spiritual attacks that disturb the undertaking.

What is a spirit experiencing who comes into a body of a person on earth? There takes place an exchange of feelings and thoughts back and forth between the body and the new spirit. The spirit must be very strong and centered on doing God's will so he or she will not come under the feelings of the body. In case that this should happen nevertheless, the spirit may lose his or her awareness of the own identity and begin to feel like he or she would be the person of the body. The more problems come to the spirit in the body and the more difficult the situations are, the bigger that this kind of confusion of identity will be. Then the spirit person might loose faith in him- or herself and will not be able to come through well anymore. People around will begin to doubt if he or she is really a new spirit in the body and so the whole process could be dragged down.

In some cases such a spirit person may be so influenced by the body and by people around that he or she entirely loses faith and begins to act in ways that he or she would normally not do.

Although full descent of a spirit in a body is not well known in the world, it is something that has been practiced in various degrees in many cultures of the world. Usually such proceedings are kept secret. Not each person's body is fit for a spirit to come in. And even if a person has a foundation so God could work to bring in a heavenly spirit with an important mission, then much work is usually done by angels to prepare the body.

Question: Can a person spiritually see or feel when thoughts and inspirations are coming from a source in spirit world? Can spiritual sensitivity help to clearly distinguish which thoughts are our own and which ones come from spirit world? Does all inspiration ultimately come from sources in spirit world, which would imply that all that a physical person can do is to set up the conditions to receive inspiration? How much of J.S. Bach s amazing musical oeuvre has been composed by himself alone and how much did he receive from the spiritual world?

You're asking several good questions. First, is our creativity only the result of sources in spirit world? Definitely not. It is the unique characteristic of all people that we each have our own creativity. This doesn't mean however that we live in a spiritual vacuum. We all are affected by the spiritual world to varying degrees. Part of these influences is positive, another part is negative.

There are many possibilities. Many people are inspired from spirit world without realizing it. They think that their magnificent ideas are their own while in fact these may have been revelations from knowledgeable sources in the spiritual world. Also negative thoughts and ideas can come from spirit world and people receive them without realizing it. But some people are aware of getting revelations from the spiritual world. They can hear a voice speaking or dictating to them, sometimes entire books or music compositions.

Often our creativity is a combination of our own and of receiving help from spirit world. For example, a composer may receive several compositions from the spiritual world and learns from that and later creates his own music. Again, some people are more aware of this process and others are not. In general it is so that as one develops more spiritually, one will have greater awareness of which part of a creation was revealed and which part not.

There is however also such a thing as energy fields that surround everyone on earth. When somewhere in the world a new idea erupts or a new discovery is made, there will be several people around the globe who also get the same ideas. This is not necessarily or always brought to them by spirits. This can also be entirely an energy-field phenomenon. I have sometimes heard speeches given by Rev. Moon who gave them at the same moment far away from me. There were no angels with me but through being united such things can become possible.

When I later had access to the actual physical speech, the words were not always the same but the content was. It is also in this way that we sometimes can receive knowledge that is not really a revelation from spirits but nevertheless the information travels through the spiritual world.

As for J.S. Bach, I am quite sure that he has been inspired by heavenly angels but I am also certain that he had very much creativity of his own. The two types of creativity can hardly be separated as we all live in the spiritual world and are connected to very much around us. Essential is that we make the conditions that our creativity is under God and is serving good purposes. That is more important than wanting our creative gifts to be solely our own.

Creative people do normally not boast of their abilities because they know that much of it was given to them and only part of it the result of their hard work to learn certain techniques etc.
