Imagine that energy from a big source flows into a smaller space. That energy will form vortexes. This process is what basically determines the form of chakras.

Chakras or switchwheels are energy centers in our body. Although they are located in certain areas of the body, it can be argued that they are not part of the visible body. Compare this for example to electricity that flows through wires in a house. You can see the wires but you cannot see the energy of the electricity, until it expresses in some kind of form, for example heat or light.

Chakras have sources of energy. Let's for example look at the throat chakra. The throat chakra is the center of energy for what is called ether. Ether is an energy that can be found throughout the cosmos. It is the energy that functions as the medium for the imprinting of the mind. Programmed ether is present in each plant, in each living being. The programming of the ether determines how the plant functions.

Ether is present in, for example, your arm. That ether is programmed by the mind, and a large ratio of this programming has been done unconsciously. Nevertheless, this ether is programmed so the arm can perform many functions.

Ether is programmed by the mind. The mind in the form of thoughts and feelings and plans works in on ether. Ether in its pure form is present throughout the cosmos. Ether in programmed and also polluted form is found in the world around us.

Although the energy center for ether is in the throat chakra, this doesn't mean that we 'think' with our throat. The energy source for the mind is in the throat chakra but the actual actions of the mind, in the physical body are performed by the brain and the nervous system throughout the body.

We have a direct source of ether in energy that we can receive directly from God. Ether is an aspect of a more general energy that God gives in us. This energy can be called Universal Prime Force, and one main part of this is Creation Energy.

In Creation Energy is ether, as part of the life force that we receive from God. The word 'life force' here stands for all the energies that together form what we call 'life' and which we receive directly from the Creator.

When elements of ether, derived from Creation Energy, flow into us, their main destination is the throat chakra. When a source of much energy is channeled into a smaller area, it creates a vortex. The ether spirals into the area taken by the throat chakra. It is this spiraling energy that some people can see as the 'chakra.'

The form of all chakras is determined by in- and outgoing energies, and energy that is contained in the chakras.

All the seven main chakras that operate on the level of the mind, and that provide the body with energy, have a source in life energy that comes from Creation Energy from God, and they also have a source in life-sustaining energies that come from the environment around us.

For example, ether in its purest form comes to us directly through the life we receive from God, but it also comes from ether that is in the cosmos around us and which we can define as life-sustaining ether.

When these two forms of ether flow into the throat chakra, they form vortexes of energy. This, basically is what the chakra is. The vortex of inflowing energies makes up the chakra. It has no further form than that. We cannot expect that a chakra could be cut out from a body like it is possible with body organs such as the heart of the kidneys.

Chakras also give off energy. Some chakras have outgoing gates and channels in many directions. In literature this is often pictured as the petals of lotus flowers. The more petals the lotus flower symbolizing the chakra has, the more outgoing gates and channels.
