- Photos that came from Wikipedia but which were uploaded to ERW are put in the category Wikipedia photos.
- The category of Public domain photos includes only photos from external sources, not public domain photos made by users of ERW.
- Photos of the Category:ERW help and design photos are generally not included in one of these categories of sources of photos, as they commonly are made by screen printing.
