A man was walking a long and strenuous road. His destination was heaven and he knew that he had to overcome many difficulties. At a certain point the road split in two. There were many other people who had arrived at the same branching. There were two road signs there. One pointed to the right and it said 'Heaven.' The other sign pointed to the left and it said 'Hell.'

We are all evolving. Mankind as a whole is developing and children who inherited much from their parents start off from a better base. Would it be strange to think that parents who gave many blessings to their children will also receive many blessings in return? Would it not be so that we have so much to give to our ancestors, just as they have given much to us? Our ancestors, even the most elevated among them, can also inherit because of what we build up. Because we are connected with our ancestors, both with those whom we adopted as our spiritual models and with those from whom our bodies are descending, they can also inherit from us and grow because of our efforts and advancement.

What responsibility and joy does this realization give us in our relationship with the Creator and with all of our ancestors, be they original or newly given to us?

Most people followed their logic and because they wanted to find heaven, they entered the road to the right. But the man was used to consult God for all his decisions and when God ordered him to go the path into hell, he obeyed.

The man was convinced that for some reason God wanted him to enter hell. His love for God however was so deep that he overcame his strong desire for heaven.

The road to hell was a lonesome one. The further he came, the fewer other people he saw. But each time that the man prayed, he was confirmed that he was on the right road.

The road was difficult. Gradually though his life became better and he felt getting closer to God. More and more it appeared that what he thought was hell was really heaven. So the man set himself to pray again and after a long time he realized that the ones who controlled the area had misplaced the road signs. They had swapped the signs to mislead many people and to bring them under their control. All those who had chosen for heaven landed in hell and only the very few who had asked God what to do had chosen the correct road for heaven.

Then God sent the man back to the road signs. He had to fight a big war against those who controlled the area until he could place the road signs in the right direction. Then God sent him onto the road to the right to help all those who had chosen the wrong road and to save them out from hell.

Everything of value can be inherited in the parent-child relationship. Children learn from their parents and inherit many qualities based on the merit built up by their parents.

This relationship is similar to that between humans and God. We can learn so much from God in a direct relationship. The more we love God, the wider the channel becomes through that the endowment flows. It's all done in the complete love between God the Creator and we the children.

The principle of bestowal from parents to children also works in horizontal relationships. The more that we can see others while either having a parental heart or a children's heart, the more that blessings flow in either direction.

We inherit from our ancestors and also from those whom we adopted as parents and whom we call 'Father' and 'Mother.' Of course, I know... Some of my readers may say that children don't adopt their parents. But in a sense, I think it is right to say that parents not only can adopt children, but children also give their love in adopting those people who are models of love as parents.
