The word “Messiah” in Hebrew means the “anointed one” signifying a king,<br>
The chosen people of Israel were expecting a similar person as the prophets revealed,<br>
Thus Jesus Christ came, “Christ” meaning Messiah in Greek,<br>
His purpose was to make sure that God’s work of salvation was fulfilled,<br>
Man and God back together, a relationship that needed to be healed.<br>

Thus Jesus came for nothing less than the salvation of humanity,<br>
He was to establish the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth for all eternity,<br>
Bringing a way to substantiate mind and body unity,<br>
Being one with the Heavenly Father and hearing Him perfectly,<br>
And a new era of peace, unity and love was to begin on earth substantially.<br>

But was salvation really completed through the cross?<br>
If yes, then the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth would have been restored,<br>
And God’s heart of pain would have been felt by people, who are devout.<br>
Since it was not, sin has continued to follow man, to haunt,<br>
Parents transmitting original sin their children, hanging heavily like a dark cloud.<br>

So was Jesus’ death on the cross for naught?<br>
We can’t say that considering the illustrious history Christianity brought forth,<br>
Our experiences in faith make it plain the great benefit of the cross,<br>
But it still left a lot to be done; this can be said aloud,<br>
Come, read along and I’ll show you how.<br>

Jesus’ death on the cross was not the most desired will of God,<br>
For He had been sent to build an eternal Kingdom on earth, but could not,<br>
The Jewish leadership persecuted Jesus and led him to the cross,<br>
Thus to be the founding nation, that qualification Israel lost,<br>
Within a few generations, Israel over the face of the earth was tossed.<br>

What would have happened if Jesus had not been crucified?<br>
The spiritual & physical aspects of salvation would have materialized.<br>
So through his death only spiritual salvation was realized,<br>
Thus a foundation was laid for his return, a mission to be finalized,<br>
And to return he will, just as He prophesized.<br>

There were two kinds of prophecies concerning the cross,<br>
That Jesus would be the King the Jews in his lifetime, stated the book of laws,<br>
Or that he will be crucified of course,<br>
The fulfillment of either depended on the direction the Israelites would chose,<br>
Man’s portion of responsibility was still important as far as it goes.<br>

So what really happened, what really took place?<br>
Let’s go back to scripture, let’s read what it says.<br>
“Behold I will send you Elijah before the great and terrible day”<br>
So before Jesus could come, Elijah was expected to come and prepare the way,<br>
Prophet Malachi foretold that before Jesus came, Elijah would first come again.<br>

So did Elijah return first as Malachi had foretold,<br>
Yes he did, and with a new name was he called,<br>
Jesus testified and prophesied that this was none other than the Baptist, John,<br>
Yet John didn’t recognize himself in the second coming of Elijah’s role,<br>
John’s ignorance was a major factor in compelling Jesus to go the way of the cross.<br>
