Divine School as a basis for unlimited personal growth (9/21/13)
Divine School as a basis for unlimited personal growth
the highest goal of our own schooling, ... is simply to become ... a creative being in the image of God
Small children don't have conscious goals for what they do. They play and run, are interested in everything around them, and this is how they quickly grow.
Then they go to schools and they start to think about what they want to become. Eventually, most people in our world study to be able to take on a profession in society. Other people plan to become rich, famous or powerful.
Their learning is not anymore natural and original, but centered on goals that are lower than the ones that God has instilled in all of us.
Because all things in the world are connected, eventually there will be a limit to how much we can learn and develop when we too much narrow down our topics of learning. If someone focuses too much on external topics, internal life may suffer. When you forget to see yourself as a spiritual being, your attention become too much on the physical and material.
The idea behind Divine School is to go back to a way of learning like we can see it in younger children. The drive behind this is the desire, the impulse that we have in us to keep growing. As we grow, we become able in more ways to express our creativity.
Always when i prayed and pray about the meaning of Divine School, i get a strong sense that people haven't yet seen the limits of what is possible for them. People restrict themselves because they focus on specialist training too much and too soon in their lives and development. Also, they forget the highest goal of our own schooling, which is simply to become more and more a creative being in the image of God.
Last night i was praying about this and asked the question to God what people must do to find back to this original drive. Then i looked up to the sky and in the clouds there appeared for a minute a hole in the white clouds. This hole very clearly formed the letter T. I had to immediately think of the word 'Task.'
Well, i don't know how this phenomenon in the clouds came about or if it has deep meaning, but for me it stressed that the answer is in doing tasks as given by God.
Basically, it is the same as Foundation of Faith. God gives tasks to us, and in order to fulfill them, we must grow and develop. We can only fulfill the tasks when we keep learning and growing.
If we are open for this, God will guide us through the process of learning and growth by giving us missions and tasks, all the time new ones, fitting to the level that we have reached. These tasks don't come from other people. They come directly from God. We can feel and know what these tasks are, when we trust that God will guide us in this way.
Excerpts
Charles Kamins Based on your comment I can't help but wonder if we all are born with original nature and only gain fallen nature through contact with the world?
Strictly speaking, sin canot be inherited...
John Eagles Strictly speaking, sin cannot be inherited, because a sin is an act, or thought, desire, plan, feeling. Parents don't pass on their thoughts or actions as such, whether wrong and sinful or good and desirable. What is passed on are the energies, that is when we speak about the level of energy. The level of energy is causal to the level of expressed substance. Expressed substance we find in the substantial spirit world and substantial physical world. What is inherited from parents in the physical sense is DNA. What is inherited in the spiritual senses is the equivalent of DNA, a kind of spiritual DNA. What can be passed on are energies, and their expressions in spiritual and physical DNA. But DNA can be altered, as i know you have studied. To alter DNA is done, again, on the causal level by energy. This can be your own energy of your own actions, and also the energy that is sent by others. For example, energy that comes from the world around us. Angels influence the DNA of people, and all living beings, by sending energies. It is a process that takes much time, often many generations.
Already a seed and an egg of the parents contain energies that are passed on to the fetus. Then, in the womb, the energies of the mother and her surrounding are affecting the fetus. Also there is strong influence from the father, when he is in a love, good love or bad love, relationship with the mother during pregnancy.
As children grow up, they are coming into contact with the outer world more and more. This is why they can be more affected by the world. Also, as children grow up, they become more and more responsible for their own thoughts and desires and actions. And if they have wrong thoughts, it means that they sin, and then their nature becomes more fallen as a result.
Original sin, in this sense, are tendencies to sin that come from very early ancestors, and these tendencies (energies) were passed on from generation to generation. These will be passed on until there comes a generation who overcomes this. From there on, their children don't inherit this anymore. But they can still inherit it from their surroundings, or they can commit new sins by their own choice, and then the original sin can be reinstated in them.
It's only real parents that can break the chain of sin as it is passed on through the generations. Adopted parents could only do it when they entirely have taken the place of the real parents. In that case, the children must have separated entirely from the sins, original or otherwise, which they inherited from their physical parents. Otherwise, there is still no separation from such wrong tendencies. There cannot be separation from original sin if the process of adoption has been more ritual than real. And of course, there cannot be separation from original sin, or better said the tendencies to live in a wrong way, when the so-called true parents are sinful themselves.
An evil world influences us to a big degree
John Eagles So there is a big degree in which an often evil world influences each of us. Therefore it is very important to change the culture, the traditions of the world. Through traditions, habits are passed on through the generations in a culture.
It is very difficult to break an old tradition and to start a new and good one. It needs lots of efforts of several people over a longer period of time. If successful, newborn people will be influenced less and less in wrong ways. It is practically impossible to break the chains of evil if not new good traditions are installed and a new and good culture is established.
Divine School intends to install new traditions in the field of learning
John Eagles Divine School intends to install new traditions in the field of learning and education. Divine School simply means: the schooling in a way as God originally intended. It is very broad, and it has to be very broad, because all things, all aspects of life are related. We need a very broad foundation if we wish to build a high tower of good accomplishment. If the foundation is not strong and broad enough, for example if someone only tries to advance in the field of religion, or only in the field of science, or only in the field of body practice, then at a certain moment there cannot be more development anymore. The tower of development in specialist fields will lack foundation and cannot be built higher up.
