Information from a spiritual source about John the Baptist and his life
- This page is part of an ERW course: Historical figures of faith and inspiration. By John Eagles, September 7, 2009.
- This is information that I acquired from a source in spirit world. The source said he lived in Jesus' time and was an eyewitness of the described events. Most of what he told me appears to be about John the Baptist, the community he grew up in, and about Jesus. Please view this as nothing more than a report given by a source from the spiritual world. I do not claim that any of this is necessarily true but do believe that this information may help to unravel some knots of confusion concerning this period in time.
- The person referred to as 'he' apparently is John the Baptist. No single name was mentioned in the account, so when names are mentioned I put them in brackets when the names appeared to be clear from the context.
He came from a people who originally had 12 tribes but in his time there were only a few tribes left. All tribes had been exiled from the country and only some tribes returned, already before he was born. He belonged to the tribes that had returned from exile.
In the time that he lived, God told him that the Messiah is on earth. The country was controlled by an evil empire.
I shall tell you something about an important person who lived in my time. He was the son of a priest and he spent much time in the desert. Later he gave speeches and attracted many people. God had told this person to go and help the Messiah and to bring his followers to him. He thought about this but lost faith and thought that this person might be a deceiver.
His younger sister died when she was three months old. That sister was born maybe 1 1/2 to two years after him.
The parents of this person, especially his mother, had told him that (Jesus) were evil and a son of Satan. Some people told him that his father, the priest, was the father of (Jesus) but he wasn't sure about it. The mother of (Jesus) was a daughter of a younger sister of the mother of his mother.
Relatives of his father told him that (Jesus) were a son of his father, but also told hm to not speak about this to others. It was a secret.
Some people told that the mother of (Jesus) had gotten pregnant while walking on the street and that she had been impregnated by the devil. Most people however thought that (Jesus) was the son of the man with whom (Jesus') mother lived together.
He got his education from a group of people who had special knowledge and who educated people. Some of this group lived among other people, others lived separately.
He was educated by a small elite group of teachers in that group who were close to his father and mother. He knew that he had the mission of Elijah.
The teachers told him that his task was to liberate the people of Israel from the evil empire and to bring them back to God.
At a certain moment he went into a desert and at the end of it realized that (Jesus) was the Messiah. Then he went back to his teachers. They told him that he should join with (Jesus) but not forget his main task to liberate Israel. After that he began to doubt if (Jesus) were really the Messiah.
The group said they had been founded by Moses. The group had members throughout the country. He lived in a community were some of the people were directly under the leaders of the group and others were more loosely connected.
They said the group had originally been founded by Moses with 300 people, at the end of his life. The group said to have a tradition that went back to somebody who had lived before the Israelites (Enoch?). He would have revealed three secret books to Moses that were only given to the group. He read these three books, about angels and other topics. The group that was founded by Moses did not enter Canaan with the Israelites but did this later. Maybe Moses had stayed with this group and therefore had not entered Canaan.
One of the books was about angels and the history of man and of angels who came in bodies and mixed with human women. The second book was about rules and laws. The third book could have been invented. It was about a lost civilization on a continent. This civilization would have been very much developed. Maybe this third book was only a legend.
The group had always mainly worked with the line of priests of Israel.
The group wanted an earthly king and said he should prepare for them.
In the group, some 30 people like himself had gotten a special education from the teachers of the group. He got his mission after he had completed his training.
The group counted about 3,000 members in a community. Most of them did not get special training but only had to keep to certain rules.
(Jesus) was not trained there but he did sometimes listen to speeches by the teachers. Many others in- and outside the group did the same.
The entire community had been founded by the group of teachers, long before his birth. There were more of such communities throughout the country. His father had also been educated there.
On a day after he had completed his training, he left to go for 40 days in the wilderness. When he came back his father got very ill. His father was the official leader of the community. He did not teach so much as he had many priest functions to perform. There were 12 teachers who were the disciples of his father. They organized the community.
Most of his 12 disciples were children of the 12 teachers, the disciples of his father the priest. He had followers from within the community but more from outside. When he went to the desert he had about 350 followers. For about 20 days he was alone in the wilderness. After this his first three disciples came to join him for the remainder of the time.
His father had had a wife with a daughter earlier in his life. This woman had left his father. His father was sometimes accused of having had other women. Maybe that was the reason why that woman and their child left him.
He had still two elder brothers from the same mother. These brothers had left the community when they got older. In their youth they had been raised to become priests. They did not like that and ran away.
He had one younger brother. He was one of his first three disciples and was strongly connected to the group. When he got older this younger brother was more centered on the priesthood. The younger brother had married with the daughter of a fisherman.
The younger brother was younger than the sister who had died. Both of the elder brothers were much older. The youngest was 17 years older. The oldest probably became a carpenter as he did this work in his youth.
(Jesus) lived in the same community of 3,000.
The older brothers ran away when he was 11 years old.
He had several disciples who were 2 sons of the same parents. There was one couple of two brothers of whom the younger was one of his first three disciples and the older was one of his 12 disciples. These were sons of his father's first 12 disciples.
This younger person was very enthusiast to learn much.
One of his first three disciples was his own younger brother. The second was one of the two brothers who were sons of one of the 12 disciples of his father. His third disciple was a son of the first disciple of his father.
His younger brother had traveled much to other countries. When he came back he had met one of his elder brothers. This younger brother had married while he was away.
