References and the difference between internal and external links

Charles, i made some edits in the first few sections.
Wikis make a distinction between internal links and external links, and i think that the distinction is significant for a few reasons.

  • Internal links: These refer to other pages in the same wiki. Commonly links in texts are always internal links.
    • The section See also does contain only internal links.
  • External links: These link to external websites. Also the Wikipedia is an external website. External links in the text are always made in the form of references.
    • The section External links contains further external links, these are links that were not directly connected to the text of the page.

There is an important reason why it is done that way. When people click on links in the text that lead to external pages, they leave our ERW, and may not continue reading here.
Another reason is spiritual. When external links and internal links are mixed, it spiritually means that our ERW is made to a part of, for example, the Wikipedia. To keep a clean spirit in the ERW it is necessary to keep this distinction between internal and external links.
