People commonly think of a total of five traditional senses, sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch. Sometimes a sixth sense is added, meaning a sense in terms of intuition or foresight. The five senses are understood as physical senses, but we also have five spiritual senses, or senses with which we perceive the spiritual reality . The sixth sense is understood by some as a combination of various spiritual senses.

Actually, we have many more senses, both spiritually and physically. For example, we can also physically sense such matters as pain, body positions, balance, acceleration, our blood pressure and differences in temperature.

Some people got injuries that left scars in their body, and these scars can function as very special senses. The scars can cause pain in situations that are similar to that in which the injury was inflicted.
